Setting up WordPress for AMP: Hastened Mobile Pages

There’s a great plugin by Automattic that empowers AMP for your website:

It uses the symbol of the website which you can place in the WordPress Theme Customizer, but other than that does not add any styling. Install and activate this plugin if you are choosing the simple minimum and you are done. The plugin has no settings, whatsoever.

Here to our liking, we discovered that somewhat bare bones at Yoast. We need to make sure there’s Google Analytics also and needed to shift the styling of our AMP pages. Fortunately, there is a second plugin which constructs on the very top of the AMP plugin, that manages all that, it is called PageFrog:

Why is not this in Yoast SEO itself?

Of course we have thought about simply adding this to Yoast SEO for WordPress itself. The reality is: we will. Likely in about 5-6 months from now, this will be part of Yoast SEO. We did not do that because we understand because we need to make sure that our Yoast SEO launch cycles have gotten somewhat more by now every release is not as bad as can be.
